Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic inflammatory disorder of the intestine referred as inflammatory bowel disease. Interaction between genetic, environmental and immunological factors contributes disease investigation and profession. Investigation of receptor mediated and intracellular signalling pathway related to immune interaction with gut microbiota and genetic study in humans greatly enhance the development of genetic models and develop a hypothesis that dysregulation of immune system plays a important role in pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease. This article gives brief idea about various animal model related to different mechanism involved in pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease i.e. lipopolysaccharide activate immune response via toll like receptor 4.
